
After graduating with a dual degree in Theater and Film, she moved to New York for a few years, where she acted in short films, sang with a cover band, and worked briefly in fashion. Michaela continued acting professionally until the age of 13, then took a break after Avatar to focus on school (at the time she thought she wanted to be a surgeon) and went on to study at Yale University where she fell in love with screenwriting. Her first VO job was recording additional voices in Finding Nemo! Other popular credits include additional voices in Over the Hedge, Brother Bear 2, Son of the Mask, Spider-Man 2, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never, as well as Chaca in Kronk’s New Groove/The Emperor’s New School and Young Franny in Meet the Robinsons.


She began her career at 5 years old in community theater, then transitioned into professional acting through commercial work and soon found voiceover. Michaela Jill Murphy (aka Jessie Flower) is an American actress, singer, and writer often known for her voice work as Toph Beifong in Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender.
